Maryland State Society Daughters of the American Revolution


The Maryland State Society Daughters of the American Revolution will be awarding $1000 scholarships to Maryland residents. A 3.0 GPA is expected as well as goals toward attending an Associates or Bachelor's degree. This is a renewable scholarship. The application process includes the completion of the application as well as other required including 3 letters of recommendations from a teacher, School Counselor, Principal, or Coach, volunteer work in the community as well as being an active member in a group such as scouts, yearbook, church etc.

The application is available in the seminar room in the scholarship drawer in the guidance office or see your counselor for more details!

Deadlines; Submit to sponsor by January 15 and to State Chairman by January 31

Towson UTeach

The Kahlert Foundation Scholarship for Towson UTeach(Hih School Students) supports the academic achievement of Maryland high school students who enroll at Towson University to pursue teaching certification in secondary school science of math.

Award:

  • Total amount is up to $4,000
  • initial award of $1,000 in the fall of 2018  
Eligibility:
  • Maryland Resident
  • combined high school gpa of 3.25 unweighted 
  • enroll at Towson as a full time student (12+ credits)
  • declare major of teaching in a science or math

Maryland JCI Senate Scholarship

Maryland JCI Senate Scholarship


Each year the Maryland JCI Senate awards two $500 Scholarships to deserving seniors from Maryland high schools.  The Maryland winners are chosen based on merit and need.  The applications of the two Maryland winners are then forwarded to the US JCI SENATE FOUNDATION for consideration for a $1000 Scholarship.

The creators of the “Student Award Search Aid” website are offering a scholarship for 2018.

This Scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any post secondary institution.

Maryland Farm Bureau 2018 Scholarship

 Deadline: February 1, 2018 no later than 4:00 pm

The Maryland Farm Bureau will be offering 5 scholarships worth $2,000 each. Applicants or their parents/guardians MUST be members of the Farm Bureau. Three of the scholarships will be offered to agricultural Curriculum majors and two scholarships will be offered to non-agricultural or agricultural curriculum majors.

Requirements:

  • a current photo
  • An essay on "with 3 to 5 generations removed from the farm, how do you see your role as an advocate for agriculture to minimize the knowledge gap between farmers and consumers and promote a more positive image for agriculture?"

SMECO Scholarship


Deadline: April 12, 2019


Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative (SMECO) will select seven high school seniors in their service area to interview and possibly receive $1500 scholarships based on scholastic achievement, financial need, and community and school involvement.  



Applicants must include...


  • Proof of residency 
  • A letter of acceptance to a college or technical school
  • A Student Aid Report (SAR) from FAFSA
  • A one page essay, typed, double-spaced titled "Why Is a College Education Important to Completing my Lifetime Goals"
  • Two letters of reference (minimum)
Applicants must also have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
