Central Scholarships

 Scholarships for Graduating HS Seniors!

The scholarships highlighted below are just a few of those available for graduating high school seniors who meet Central Scholarship's General Eligibility Requirements.

Central Scholarship awards $1,000,000 to Maryland residents each year for college and career training.


Forest Park High School Alumni Scholarship   
Who should apply? Graduating seniors from Forest Park High School planning to attend an accredited U.S. college or university. 
 
The BGE Scholars Program 
Who should apply? Graduating H.S. Seniors, and current undergraduate and career training students, with a commitment to community service. Students must also be a BGE customer, or a dependent of a BGE customer.  
NO UPPER INCOME LIMIT!
     
Chernak Family Scholarship  
Who should apply? Students pursuing undergraduate degrees in education at accredited U.S. institutions.  
 

Baltimore Polytechnic Institute Alumni Scholarship  
 Who should apply? Graduating seniors from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute planning to attend an accredited U.S. college or university.
 
Woodlawn High School Alumni Scholarship
Who should apply? Graduating seniors from Woodlawn High School planning to pursue an associate's or bachelor's degree in art-related fields at accredited U.S. colleges or universities.

Concerned Black Men of Calvert County Scholarship

Deadline April 29, 2020

This is a $1000 scholarship awarded to African American students who have a minimum 2.0 or better GPA over the last two (2) years of high school.  This scholarship can be renewed if the student maintains a "B" average during freshman year of college.

Applicants must provide letter(s) of acceptance; three (3) letters of recommendation (2 academic and 1 community); high school resume; brief essay; a wallet sized picture and a high school transcript.

Criteria for Selection:

2. Character and Conduct
3. Participation in school and community Activities
4. Attributes in school and community activities
5. Academic Achievements
 6.Goals and objectives of the student

The American Legion Scholarship

Deadline for this scholarship is: March 31, 2017


Up to $4,000 in scholarships to qualified applicants!

This scholarship is local and you must be a child, grandchild or ward of an honorably discharged service person, MIA,POW,KIA, killed on active duty or current member of the US Armed Forces or the parent, grandparent or guardian must be a current or past member of the American Legion Post #274 in Lusby.

Must be admitted to college or university and taking at least 12 credits or attend a vocational or technical school.

Needed:  Transcript, autobiographical essay and copy of Form 214 - discharge papers or Post #274 membership status.

Applications are available in the career/college room in the scholarship drawer.

Sabre STEM Scholarship

Sabre STEM Scholarship Program The Sabre Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Scholarship is designed to support graduating high school seniors planning to further their education in one of the STEM disciplines. Through the STEM scholarship program, Sabre is doing its part to help build a competitive workforce of scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians in order to sustain our growing global economy and to meet the increasing demands of the 21st century.

Southern Maryland Chain Chapter - The Links Incorporated

Three to six scholarships to college bound seniors in the tri-county area. $500.00 or $1,000 scholarships awarded.

Scholarship opened to seniors who demonstrate academic excellence, a social commitment to community service, the potential for leadership and the need for a financial source to help with college expenses.

Optimist Club Of Calvert Career/Vocational/Technical Scholarship

 This award must be used for advanced training at any trade school or community college that is approved by the Optimist Club.

Applicants will be judged on character, citizenship ad scholastic ability. Financial need as well as thoughtfulness in completing the application will be also be considered.

Applications can be picked up in the scholarship drawer in the seminar room in Guidance.

Calvert Optimist College Scholarship

Deadline for this scholarship is April 15th , 2018

The Optimist Club of Calvert gives two annual scholarship awards for Calvert County seniors. First place winner will receive $8000.00 over four years. (Knapp Scholarship) and second place winner will receive $6000.00 over four years.

Applicants will be judged as to qualities of character, citizenship and scholastic ability.
