The American Leigon Auxiliary General Scholarship

DEADLINE: May 13, 2019

The American Legion Auxiliary will award a scholarship up to $1000 to a qualified
applicant seeking a Certificate, Associate or Bachelor Degree, or continuing
education at an accredited school.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. An applicant who is a child, grandchild, or ward of an honorably discharged
service person, MIA, POW, KIA, Killed on Active Duty or current member of
the US Armed Forces, or whose parent, grandparent, or guardian is a
current or past member of the American Legion Post or Unit 274 will be
given priority.
2. Applicants should submit high school or college transcripts with the
application.
3. A high school or work resume should be submitted with the application.
4. Applicants will be judged on qualities of character, citizenship, and
scholarship. Letters of Recommendation from various organizations
(school, church, community, clubs) should be submitted with the
application.
5. A one-page typed autobiographical essay on why you have chosen your
field of study and featuring any unusual circumstances or significant events
must be submitted with the application.
6. A college acceptance letter should be submitted with the application.
7. The scholarship award may be used for room, board, books, tuition and/or
fees.
