Maryland State Society Daughters of the American Revolution

Masonic Charities of Maryland Scholarship

 The  Masonic Charities of Maryland  Annual Scholarship Program  has an application deadline of March 4th. 2022. 

Nearly $70,000 will be awarded to Maryland public high school graduating seniors pursuing post-secondary education. One hundred finalists from public schools across the entire state will be selected. Each finalist will receive a $500 scholarship. From these one hundred finalists, six regional winners will be selected to receive an additional $1500 scholarship. From these six, three students will be selected to receive additional scholarships of $1500, $2,500 and of $5,000 presented at our Scholarship Reception in the month of May. Our top two students will receive total scholarships of $4,500 and $7,000.

Optimist Club of Solomons - Kenny Hoofnagle Scholarship

 DEADLINE FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP: April 30th, 2022


The Optimist Club of Solomons awards a $2,000 ($500 per year of attendance) scholarship to provide financial assistance to a student graduating from Patuxent High School who plans to go to a 4 year college.

Lillie M. Sawyer Teacher Scholarship

 DEADLINE: JULY 1st 2021

This scholarship is for graduating seniors who are interested in the field of education. 

To apply the following hard copies or printed documents are necessary:

  • Official Transcript. Include an official "sealed" copy of your current academic transcript. (Unofficial copies will not be accepted.)

MCCEI 2021 Scholarship

DEADLINE: April 30th 2021

The Maryland Center for Construction Education and Intervention is offering four $1,000 scholarship for the upcoming school year.

Applicant must be a high school senior planning to enroll in a built environment-related degree program at a school, or apprentice/trainee in built environment-related training program (approved by the Bureau of Apprenticeship Training), community college, technical school or equivalent in the state of Maryland.

Environmental Scholarship

 DEADLINE: April 12 2021

The Federal Water Quality Association is seeking students preparing for careers in environmental protection. If you are interested in obtaining your Bachelors degree and pursuing a career in environmental science consider applying. 

Include your school transcripts, SAT (or ACT) scores, reference letters (preferably from a science teacher or environmentalist), list of extracurricular activities, copy of your acceptance letter, and one page essay response.

The Calvert Optimist Community Parks Foundation, Inc., awards an annual scholarship providing financial assistance to students graduating from Calvert County public high schools. If you are seeking post-secondary career education, vocational or technical training (up to a two-year program) at any trade or technical school, college or university approved by the Optimist Club of Calvert which results in the applicant being awarded accredited vocational certification or Associates Degree.

Students could be awarded $3000 or $1500 per year

The Future of STEM Scholars Initiative

THE AMERICAN LEGION ARICK L. LORE POST #274 Scholarship

 DEADLINE: March 31 2021

The Scholarship Committee of American Legion, Post #274, Lusby, Maryland, is authorized  each year to award up to $5,000 in scholarships to qualified applicants who seek advanced education in the field of their choice.

Applicants must carry a minimum of twelve (12) college credit hours or the equivalent each  semester. Certification (official transcript) student must maintain satisfactory grades (2.0 on a 4.0 GPA scale) Grades and transcript must be sent to American Legion Post #274, Lusby, Maryland 20657 at the end of each semester to ensure  payment of the award. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that this information is  forwarded to the Scholarship Committee.

Miss Utility/District One Call Scholarship

 DEADLINE: April 2 2021

Miss Utility/District One Call will select eight graduating high school seniors from Maryland and Washington, D.C., to each receive a $1,008.11 single-year scholarship.

To be eligible, applicants must be on track to graduate from a Maryland or Washington, D.C., high school in spring 2021 and intends to enroll in an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or technical school beginning in fall 2021.

This scholarship requires applicants to submit the following:

For this scholarship you must first complete the FAFSA and then contact your senator for more information. You and your parents (if you are a dependent student) must be Maryland residents. AES Engineering Scholarship

A scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by an evaluation of the essays that are submitted.

You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.

Students must submit an essay of between 500 and 1000 words

If you are a SENIOR consider looking at this application. It allows students to look at and apply to 93 different scholarships from 31 different providers. These offers are local, meaning tri county, so your chances of obtaining one or more of these scholarships is greater. You are only competing with students at PHS and local high schools, so give it a try!
