Calvert County Farm Bureau Scholarship

 Deadline: March 31 2021

The Calvert County Farm Bureau will offer a $1,000 college scholarship for the school year of 2021-22. 

Applicants must be high school seniors starting college in the fall of 2021

Maryland Farm Bureau

The Maryland Farm Bureau is awarding five $2,000 scholarships for the 2021-2022 academic year.

Student View Scholarship Program

 Deadline: April 22 2021

The 2021 Student-View Scholarship Program is offering $1300 worth of scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend a four year college, community college, or career school.

Available: One $5000 scholarship

                Three $1000 scholarships

                Ten $500 scholarships

Environmental Scholarship

 DEADLINE: April 12 2021

The Federal Water Quality Association is seeking students preparing for careers in environmental protection. If you are interested in obtaining your Bachelors degree and pursuing a career in environmental science consider applying. 

Include your school transcripts, SAT (or ACT) scores, reference letters (preferably from a science teacher or environmentalist), list of extracurricular activities, copy of your acceptance letter, and one page essay response.

Essay Options:

How your own actions have promoted environmental protection/ awareness.

Why you would like to pursue a career in environmental protection/ pollution control; what factors led to your decision; and what you hope to accomplish through a career in this field.

 How your choice of extracurricular activities, elective classes, and non-science classes will contribute to your career goals.

Cyber Security Scholarship

DEADLINE: July 15 2021 

Cyber Security Association of Maryland Inc., is providing an annual $1000 scholarship to help aspiring students become cyber security professionals.

To apply for the scholarship, complete a short entry form and submit a 250-word essay on "Why have you chosen to enter the field of cybersecurity?"

AIAA Roger W. Kahn Scholarship

Deadline: March 1 2021 

AIAA will award up to four $10,000 scholarships to high school seniors intending to pursue an engineering or scientific degree at a college or university!

Must be a Current high school senior intending to pursue an aerospace or STEM major at a college or university, have a minimum GPA of 3.5, and demonstrate an interest in aerospace through extracurricular activities.

Optimist Club of Calvert Career/Vocational/Technical Scholarship

Deadline: April 20 2021 

The Calvert Optimist Community Parks Foundation, Inc., awards an annual scholarship providing financial assistance to students graduating from Calvert County public high schools. If you are seeking post-secondary career education, vocational or technical training (up to a two-year program) at any trade or technical school, college or university approved by the Optimist Club of Calvert which results in the applicant being awarded accredited vocational certification or Associates Degree.

Students could be awarded $3000 or $1500 per year

Applicants will be judged on character, citizenship, scholastic ability, and financial need.  Recommendations from various organizations (school, church, Scout programs, 4-H, etc.) will be sought when deemed pertinent and necessary.

2nd awarded Scholarship: Jim-King Scholarship for $6000 or $1500 per year

Optimist Club Scholarship Essay Contest

 Deadline: February 12 2021

Essay Topic: "Reaching your dreams by choosing optimism."

Must be 700-800 words, fill out the application form, and submit your essay and form to Kimberly Imel at kni5024@psu.edu

 One overall winner will advance to the District contest to compete for a $2,500 scholarship.

The Future of STEM Scholars Initiative

ACC, along with several other partners, is supporting a scholarship program called the Future of STEM Scholars Initiative (FOSSI). 

FOSSI is a national industry-wide program which provides scholarships to students pursuing STEM degrees at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and connects these students to internships, leadership development, and mentoring opportunities at participating companies.

The scholarship is $10,000 per year for 4 years and is such a great opportunity.

THE AMERICAN LEGION ARICK L. LORE POST #274 Scholarship

 DEADLINE: March 31 2021

The Scholarship Committee of American Legion, Post #274, Lusby, Maryland, is authorized  each year to award up to $5,000 in scholarships to qualified applicants who seek advanced education in the field of their choice.

Applicants must carry a minimum of twelve (12) college credit hours or the equivalent each  semester. Certification (official transcript) student must maintain satisfactory grades (2.0 on a 4.0 GPA scale) Grades and transcript must be sent to American Legion Post #274, Lusby, Maryland 20657 at the end of each semester to ensure  payment of the award. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that this information is  forwarded to the Scholarship Committee.

Miss Utility/District One Call Scholarship

 DEADLINE: April 2 2021

Miss Utility/District One Call will select eight graduating high school seniors from Maryland and Washington, D.C., to each receive a $1,008.11 single-year scholarship.

To be eligible, applicants must be on track to graduate from a Maryland or Washington, D.C., high school in spring 2021 and intends to enroll in an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or technical school beginning in fall 2021.

This scholarship requires applicants to submit the following:

  • General contact information
  • Essay describing the importance of Miss Utility/District One Call and how it could relate to a future career path
  • High school transcript

Senatorial Scholarship

For this scholarship you must first complete the FAFSA and then contact your senator for more information. You and your parents (if you are a dependent student) must be Maryland residents. You must enroll at a two-year or four-year Maryland college or university, as a full-time or part-time, degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate student, or attend certain private career schools. 

2020-2021 Award Minimum: $400

2020-2021 Award Maximum: $11,800​

This scholarship is normally available to students seeking to attend college in state. ​You may however, use this scholarship at an out-of-state school if your major is not available at any Maryland institution and if your senator agrees.
