Colonial Agricultural Educational Foundation Scholarships

Colonial Agricultural Educational Foundation, Inc. was established by Colonial Farm Credit to promote education and community enrichment through educational scholarships and support of programs and services offered by community organizations. Every year this organization provides several scholarships to residents of Maryland and Virginia who are pursuing further education at a university or trade school. There are two scholarships available to Calvert County students this year, each worth $2,000.

Application Requirements: 

  • Applications can be filled out on Colonial Farm Credit's website.
  • Test scores are not required but may be added to applications. 
  • Only one application is needed and will automatically put you in the running for all scholarships you are eligible for.

Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Scholarship

Deadline: January 15th, 2023

Scholarship Value: $1,500

Awards Available: 1 per chapter

This year, Maryland State Society Daughters of the American Revolution (MSSDAR) will award a $1500.00 scholarship to a graduating Maryland High School Senior who is a citizen of the United States. Applicants pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university are eligible. Scholarships are renewable for up to an additional 3 years upon annual review and approval of an official college transcript by the state chairman. It is expected that students maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Application Requirements: 

  • Applicants must be citizens of the United States. 
  • Applicants must submit a MSSDAR Financial Need Form.
  • Letters of recommendation from 3 of the following: a teacher, a principal, a guidance counselor, current/previous employer, leader of a community group you have worked for, leader of a group you are an active member of, or a coach.
  • Applicants must submit a copy of their birth certificate or naturalization papers to prove citizenship.
  • Applicants must submit a high school transcript.
  • Applications must be submitted through a local chapter of the DAR
