This year, Maryland State Society Daughters of the American Revolution (MSSDAR) will award a $1500.00 scholarship to a graduating Maryland High School Senior who is a citizen of the United States. Applicants pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university are eligible. Scholarships are renewable for up to an additional 3 years upon annual review and approval of an official college transcript by the state chairman. It is expected that students maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Application Requirements:
- Applicants must be citizens of the United States.
- Applicants must submit a MSSDAR Financial Need Form.
- Letters of recommendation from 3 of the following: a teacher, a principal, a guidance counselor, current/previous employer, leader of a community group you have worked for, leader of a group you are an active member of, or a coach.
- Applicants must submit a copy of their birth certificate or naturalization papers to prove citizenship.
- Applicants must submit a high school transcript.
- Applications must be submitted through a local chapter of the DAR
